Back on Track: Le Marathon du Mont Blanc 2023

After more than a year of being injured, I am finally back on track. I can’t express how excited and thankful I am to wear a bib again. Countless hours spent at the physio, training, and reinforcing my hip and flexibility, have led to this moment. I started running again in March, giving myself just three months to prepare for one of the most beautiful races on earth, in the trail runner’s paradise: Le Marathon du Mont Blanc.

The race covers 45 kilometers through the stunning Chamonix Valley, starting and ending in Chamonix, and passing through some of my favorite spots: L’Aiguille des Posettes, Vallorcine, and La Flégère. A heat wave added to the challenge, causing many runners to faint during the final climb.

The emotions were overwhelming. As I crossed the finish line, I couldn’t hold back the tears. The joy of being back in the mountains, having spent such a wonderful day running through breathtaking landscapes, was indescribable. Waiting for me at the finish line was my dear friend Bertrand, making the moment even more special. I am incredibly happy to have completed this race, a testament to resilience and the beauty of the Mont Blanc marathon.
